The Greeks introduced this wine along the tyrrhenian coasts when they founded their colonies of (VII-VI ac). That could explain the presence of synonyms of hellenic, that changed in aglianico. The name rue dell’inchiostro comes from the name “rue” that the French attributed to the streets of Paternopoli during their domination. The name “ink” better defines the characteristic purple color of this wine.
